Dr. Papa is a graduate of the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, class of 1999. He performed four years of post-graduate residency training, including a two year comprehensive foot and ankle surgical residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, in New Hyde Park, Long Island, where he was the inaugural Chief Resident.
While in residency, Dr. Papa was part of the Vascular Surgery department which offered him the exposure to many critical patients. During his training, he was able to work with various medical specialties including: Vascular surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, Endocrinologists, Orthopedic Surgeons, and Pediatricians. It was here where Dr. Papa developed a strong interest in Diabetic wound care and closure, Diabetic foot reconstruction, biomechanics, and Pediatric foot care.
Dr. Papa is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Board Qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine and an Associate Member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Papa established his private practice in Brooklyn in March 2004. He has subsequently opened locations in Midtown Manhattan and Elmhurst, Queens.
Dr. Papa currently resides in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn.
